The Root (fashion, sustainability and social issues)
The Root is a podcast collaboration between the women of two different podcasts: Conscious Chatter and Melanin And Sustainable Style (MelaninASS). The Root has been brought to life to ‘decolonize the sustainable fashion agenda’ and does so by inviting 17 BIPOC experts to go in depth with their amazing hosts. The collaborative project has 6 episodes and guides us through systemic racism, racism in the fashion industry and the future of fashion.
About the hosts
Dominique Drakeford (MelaninASS) is a non-traditional educator and storyteller, with a resume of 10+ years of environmental justice advocacy & youth development.
Kestrel Jenkins (Conscious Chatter) is an expert in storytelling and conscious fashion. For over a decade she has been investigating everything about our clothes ant heir impact on the planet.
Both of these women show us how you can hold onto your values, without compromising your style.

I Weigh with Jameela Jamil (health, comedy)
The I Weigh podcast is part of the safe and radically inclusive online universe of actress and activist Jameela Jamil. I Weigh has become a community that encourages us to take activism step by step, and the I Weigh podcast is a fun, current and empowering way to get some activism in on the regular. Every episode, Jamil invites thought leaders, activists, performers and more to talk about their area of expertise. Jamil always makes sure to have honest and humorous conversations, which turns every episode a nice listen.
About the host
Jameela Jamil is best known for acting and presenting. Jameela is open about her mental health, and encourages her following to be kind to themselves. The The Good Place star has dealt with a great deal of misogyny in the entertainment industry, and decided there was no way she was going to stay quiet about it. We absolutely adore her energy and hope you’ll giveI Weigh a listen!
Jameela Jamil has a beautifully open conversation with Reese Witherspoon about Instagram, postpartum depression and Meryk Streep in this episode.
